ok i just got a 1988 s-10 and it the krank is like off balanced and keeps crackin the bell housing on the tranny so is it worth replacing the crank or just get a new engine


please help

Tell us as much as you can about the motor
The size is the most important, and if you don't know the size at least the number of cylinders

If it's a 2.8L you should replace it, but not with another 2.8L.
Look for a 3.4L from a Comaro

It sounds like the weight came off the flywheel. Ive never seen a crank just go out of balance. To bad your in California. I have a nice B&B 2.8 that been siting on an engine stand waiting for a home. I know I will never use it so it could be bought.
