Ok, don't get me wrong, my AC works and everything, but it uses the new, sucky, environmentally correct refridgerant, and it's only 94 today, (gonna get 20 hotter over the summer) and the AC can't keep up. My last car was black/black, but had that nice, old, screw-the-ozone refridgerant, and it could keep up in 114! Screw the ozone! Screw the ozone! I want my in-car temp under 80!!

If we start running low on ozone, I can always make more. How, you ask? Well, did any of you ever have AFX cars? The little cars that drove around on the metal strips on a plastic track when you pulled the trigger? Remember the smell they made? That's ozone, and that's where we can get plenty of it.

ROFL!! too true!:D Although in all seriousness i think if people are worried aobut the ozone, then they should set up a a LOT of solar cells in like, the deserts or something, and hook them up a lot a lot of huge tesla coils. Charge them during the day, run the coils during the night :stormzap: and within a few years, teh ozone problem will be gone.
edit: oh yeah, and my SUV has an AC....but it doesnt work! no gas!! HAAA!! MY SUV RULES!! lol:D

true, but i'm used to it because none of the cars at my house have air conditioning installed in the cars, so i've grown to accept it....the sentra....no a/c...the cargo van...no a/c,but it has fly windows.....it only matters when i'm in a car for a long time, do i start to feel unpleasant....:)

Not having Air Con is way more fun.
In summer you get to drive with you windows down, listening to that throbing noise. My car is even better for that, i have wind down windows. So I can only just reach the passenger one, and my rear windows need to be opened from the open boot.
In winter, if you don't have A/C you get to drive whilst trying to wipe the fog off your windshield.
Atleast having no aircon, means i'm not wasting gas.

Ah, but my friend, the newest word is that driving with your windows down produces more drag, and you actually use more gas fighting drag than driving using your A/C!!!
I thought that too until I got it in some driving newsletter I get!!! :(

It's a bit different in Massachusets, I imagine. Consider that last summer it was 114 every day for 3 weeks, and you'll understand why 'windows down' isn't enough. Oh, and it only rained twice last year. @#$#@ Desert!!!

Ahh yes, but if you don't have aircon, and don't open your windows. Then you are using less gas. Thats pretty much how i always drive, as it barely ever gets hot enough in Auckland to warrent opening a window.
But the levels of gas you're wasting are minimal. Its would be like someone removing their wing mirrors to save on fuel.

No offence but 95% of people here are uninformed, the Ozone is an extremely serious matter, if we keep using CFC's and Sulphr and Carbon products, then New York, LA, Washington and San Diego will resemble Atlantis, a great case of "Get what you give" since it is Americans who are responsible for it all.
Not that it matters to me, Auckland is relativley high above sea level and the inevitable "Big one" (Earhquake) is bound to push us up further, same goes for the rest of NZ.

Hey Moss106Gti, Auckland isn't any higher then the americain cities you listed. Infact most port cities will end up all like each other, underwater. Though we can be safe if we all stand on top on one tree hill, or skytower.
Oh and no Earthquakes going to push Auckland further up, we arn't even in an major earthquake zone. The fault line runs up east of Taurunga (sp?).
Oh and by the way... what does Atlantis look like?
