I have a 2001 2500 Sliverado HD. At 36,001 miles I started to experience difficulty starting the car on the first try. It always started on the 2nd or 3rd try. I just took a cross country trip from CA to FL and the truck now starts very difficultly. It cranks over like normal but it appears as if it is not getting fuel. It now takes three to four attempts before the car starts "immediately" Pumping the accellerator does not help. Am I dealing with a fuel pump problem or is it something a little more simple. The dealer has advised me that they will need to perform a diag at $90.00 per hour to isolate the problem and that it may cost me $800.00 if it is a fuel pump. Has anyone experienced this problem?
