well i think my car is gonna have to have a new ecu in it. the shop i have it at is going to get a new one or get the one in it rebuilt and the place where they are sending it is charging $375. is this too much or can i get a new ecu anywhere for cheap? how much is a average cost for one?

umm ebay? thats all i got to offer sorry. Mitsubishi rapes you if that is where you are getting your ECU froom. they want $350 for fog lamps.. and my front body clip was $560. So that price dosn't surprise me.

avproECM.com, thanks for that info though... I may have to get mine repaired... I've been posting in other threads, that I had a wire in my TPS sensor had pulled loose (I originally thought IAT, not IAC)... I fixed that, but now I have a sluggish take-off, and my idle is very irregular... I'm gonna check the IAC, but I feel that my ECU might also be damaged...

First off, take out your ECU, and check the caps. THere are directions for removal on www.stealth316.com as well as instructions for capacitator inspection there. Also there is a section at the bottom of the FAQ regarding all of this and it mentions AVPRO and their info.

If you havn't inspected it, then assuming it is the ECU is a poor choice. Also these are all easy things to do, and you are going to get overcharged having a shop do it.
