crank position sensors

my 84 528e resently begain having problems starting, the engine turns over but will not start...I look at the sensors connectors on top of the engine and they are pretty bad... I had the vehicle check by a mechanic and he said I need both crank position sensors. My question is what tools will I need and how difficult is it to replace the sensors
