transmission issues

I have an '89 s-10 rwd with the 2.5. It grinds a little into 2nd gear and since that gear has its own syncro, i'm guessing that its bad. Has anyone ever changed the syncs on either the Warner or the Muncie. I'm not exactly sure which one it has cause I haven't taken a good look at it yet. I would like to know how to do it cause its to the point that if I don'r double clutch it then it won't go into gear very well.

I've looked inside transmissions, had a 3 speed apart, but never actually reassembled one.
However from what I understand that a standard transmission is easier to rebuild than a motor. And I believe that just from the looks of them.
The only problem that you might have is finding the parts.
If I was you and I seriously felt that I could re-build a motor myself I would do it.
Just take photos before you take the inside out, and keep everything in order.
You might want to look into the posibility of replacing the bearings at the same time

Yes, I have rebuilt an engine before and just wanted to fix this issue before i have to skip 2nd gear. I was thinking of doing a total overhaul since i am going to have it all apart anyway. Everything else works fine, no noises or anything, its just going into 2nd gear that kils it.
