just realized something

i dunno if anyone noticed, but i used to come here alot, almsot everday id post something. but then i stopped coming for one simple reason, the mods were complete fuck heads. i hated jake and joe, they were always cocksuckers to everyone and so i just stopped coming here, but ive recently realized that they have been banned and so now im back and i dunno who the new mod is but you cant be any worse than those douches were, just thought id share. and does anyone know what happened with jake like scamming that one guy?? godamn i hate that guy (jake)

not doubting the fact that they new a shitload about dsm's, still doesnt mean they weren't assholes who abused their power and should have been banned a long time ago

they did know alot and were really help ful they just didnt know how to control there anger agaist newbies. if we didnt have newbies this site wouldnt exsist but that is a pretty asshole thing to say towards them.

Jake and Joe both knew their shit when it came to DSM's, but Jake was a greedy fuck who screwed people over, and Joe went crazy. I won't dispute that maybe they were a little hard on newbies at times, but so what. People can only have patience for so much, and a good majority of the newbs that come in here are dumbasses anyways. They don't give two squirts of piss about this forum.

Josh is doing a satisfactory job at modding this forum, but IMO he needs help. We were promised that in the near future someone else would be appointed alongside him, and that hasn't happened. FormulaLT1 and some other dude were in here everyday for awhile, and then just left, and nobody else showed up. Haven't heard shit for a few months now. Can't say that I miss them though, all they did was lock threads and treat us like little kids at a time when we deserved answers for what was going on.

If you guys expect this thread to stay open, it has to stay clean. (to an extent). You know what I mean.

Well, last we heard was that 96spyderman still hasn't gotten the car, and he was going to take legal actions towards Jake. This was about a month ago. Martin (96spyderman) said that Jake ruined his experience for dsms and that he has quit with them.

We don't "nominate" anyone. Why is it that people keep bringing Kevin up for mod? He is already moderating another forum, and hes busy as hell. He dosn't have the time nor want for the job, which is just fine. We are lucky he even comes in here anymore and spreads the wealth of knowledge he has. I hate to speak for the guy, but ppl need to stop. He has already said he appreciates the respect, but dosn't want the job. You might not have known that though, so no big deal I guess. I just don't want 50 more people to come on here and say how much they want Kevin as a mod again. Just drop it people. It's not our job to appoint mods. They volunteer for it, because that's exactly what it is. A job where they don't get paid, and have to put up with all of us :p

Even though they bashed noobs for asking repeated subjects, in the rules it says to search first. Everyone has their limits, and saying search over and over was probably jake's and joe's. But the fact is, they knew a shitload about dsms. Jake is/was greedy, big deal, he was still helpful. Joe went crazy, big deal, he was still helpful.

I would rather have a forum moderated by people who know a lot about dsms and bash noobies for not searching then a mod with LT1 in his name for a dsm forum.

I dont know, i dont want a mod that screws people over and acts like he's god. I feel sorry for 96Spyderman and his experience with Jake. WTF, first time I came here everyone was bashing on me especially Jake. I almost gor scared away. People should come here not run away :) !! What Jake did he did to himself ! I got angry when i read the post when he was talking with Josh and acting like a dickhead. Jake helped a lot of people but that kid had an attitude problem. Josh on the other hand has been respectful and helpfull and thats why he was nominated as a mod. Kevin has also been helpful and I haver seen him bash on some one and call em names and shit. I like how things are right now, but maybe we do need more people like Kevin and Josh what they are talking about. unlike me, I have no clue when it comes to Turbo DSMs. I hope things get better and better on Eclipse Forums :)

Well when I first got my DSM i asked a few questions here. I had posted on the street racing forum so this seemed like a good idea. My questions were legit questions and Jake was an asshole to me. I didn't really pay attention to this forum after that. DSMtuners was my home, and I still read every post on there every day, but this place is relaxed.

I just can't stand the server, it sucks balls.

I'm sure you guys do want another moderator. I dont blame you, you haven't wanted me from the get go, but i'm doing my best, changes are coming to add more subforums to this section of AF, the problem is the new admin has a list of over 300+ things he has to do on this site to improve it, so i dont expect fast results, this includes getting another mod to help me. But i am trying to improve the forum and make it more of a relaxed setting than a place where you're afraid to post any kind of question at all. Thank you for those who are or have been patient with me, i'm trying my best.

Lets have no more talk of the previous mods either(unless you're 96Spyderman with an update), i dont even want to see any bashing of them either. Lets try to be a little respectful, even if they dont deserve it.

i give josh props, i think he is doing a great job at keeping this site at its best but i wasnt on here for 2 months then all of a sudden jake and joe were gone i dont even know what happenend to them.

I see threads being cleaned up and occassionally locked, and those are the things the mods are supposed to do. Administrative type things. I'd like to think that we can self-mod the forums as far as technical content, grammar/spelling/etc, and coaching the newbies to act appropriately. As always, I appreciate the fact that members here would like me to mod the forum. I feel my time is best spent contributing to the techinical threads rather than watching ALL posts for signs of trouble, which is quite time consuming naturally. I'm afraid that would take away from my ability to just pop in once or twice a day and hit all of the technical sunjects (another reason why it is important to be very specific with your subject lines for threads!), and move on to the other forums I follow. I think things are pretty good right now, since I can't think of any examples of things that pissed me off recently :D

I check in from time to time and Josh is doing a excellent job from the looks of it. There will be another Moderator added at some point to assist Josh but unfortunetly these things take time. I think for right now you guys are fine though but we do have our eye on a few people in here for possible mod status but Josh keep up the good work :thumbsup:

Me too, I stayed away from this forum for several months. I didn't like the atmosphere. It IS a lot better here now, and I think I will hang around.

well there you go that's all i ever started this thread for, i know i started it off on the harsh side and i apologize if ive covered something thats allready been worn out, but like i said i did abondon this forum for awhile but i like the way it is now so appearantly the new mod is doin good, keep it up.

I couldn't agree more. The amount of techical content will reflect the technical knowledge of the members, and the amount of tuning and experimenting activity of the group. I am starting to see a lot more people here logging and using DSMlink, which is a huge step in the right direction!

I just looked and he hasn't had any activity since the beginning of September. Now, I do understand that we all have lives outside of this forum, but shouldn't moderators visit a little more frequently than once a month?

Thats why Josh is here and another Admin was added but we all have prioritys and I am sure you can all agree, Aves/Jacob college comes before AF. Besides he was never a full time mod in here but there will be two mods in here in the near future. Just takes time.

i think josh is doing an excellent job...he's cleaning up the stuff that mods are supposed to do and he keeps the atmosphere nice...he doesn't "freak out" when a noob asks a stupid or repetitive question, but he sternly tells them what they're supposed to and not supposed to do. i think he's doing an EXCELLENT job and i, along with kevin, have nothing to complain about since the moderator stick has been handed to josh.
