Tuning a 13b

So, I just got back in from taking a friend of mines RX out for a rip, it's an 86' with a new rebuilt 13b in it. Runs sort of funny, it smells like it is running super rich and as I don't know much aobut them, I was wondering if there was anyway to turn down the ammount of fuel getting to the motor. As it smells like a 350 would if you just flooded it.

Also is there anything else that that could be? I am guessing this is part of the nickle and dimming him to death isn't it?

Its a rotary, you dont tune the car by the smell of the exhaust.
They all run pig rich, thats nothing new.

Well that's news to me. So it's not un-natural for it to run rich, that's just the way it is.

How about tuning them thou? The mechanic that did my friends said he got it close but he's not too sure if it's right.

Uhhh... Never take the car back to that mechanic. LOL

There are small adjustments you can make but for the most part there is not alot you can do without some sort of fuel/ignition controller. SAF-C is a commonly used piggyback system. Haltech, Microtech, AEM, Wolf, Motec ect ect. Those are alos fairly common controolers that are used in FC's. Just do a search and see what works for your budget. If you want to go really cheap but stil a decent setup look into Megasquirt, its basicly a build your own stand alone system.
