I had to post just to let people know you dont have to spend a ton of money to get into the low 12s and with a different shift rpm could be well into the 11s. My car is your basic 1968 Firebird with full stock interior and all metal on car is stock. It has a 1 1/4" sway bar and 7/8" rear, KYB gas shocks , sub frame connectors and Cal Tracs with 1979 Trans am rear end with disc brakes and WS6 springs from same doner car. Engine was built in 1991 for $999 at Napa as a stock rebuild with the exception of TRW Forged replacement pistons, Heads are stock #16 heads with no port work and stock 37 year old valves. Cam is a mild cam that is based on a factory HO cam with more lift. It has 226-234 degs duration on 114 deg lobe seperation. It runs on pump gas and can sit in traffic all day long and never sees temps above 175. I have a Holley Strret dominator and 800 DP carb on top. Exhaust is 2 1/2" all the way to tail pipes. 3000 stall with stock TH350 and 3:73s out back. I do a 0-60 ft in 1.67 secs and the 1/4 in 12.60 @ 107. Well I just installed this used nitrous system on and it is running way rich and I did a 12.1 at 114 and I know that there is way more in it with different shifting. Almost in the 11s with a low buck car!!!!!! Way cool!!!!
