Parts melting?!?!?

Well I was installing the strut bar today and noticed that a lot of items infront of the turbo are melting...Mainly my drivers side radiator fan is all shrivaled up like it has melted repeated times and is all disfigured :frown: but still rotates fine. The passenger one is only partially to the same degree. And lastly all the tubes that cover any wires around there aren't even recognizable. I don't understand why they are melting because my car is operating at more than perfect termperatures especially since the racing radiator install. Would a tubular manifold remedy this? And should I even be worried? Thanks.

Put your heat shield back on or get one! IF you have heat shield check your temp sensor might be broken.

My buddy on his awd talon has no heat shield and his fan melted also.

Ive never had a heat shield on for as long as ive owned my GS-T and there are no signs of anything melting at all. I also have the stock T-25. maybe the T-25 retains heat better than the 16g? just a suggestion.

Either way...wouldn't a tubular manifold lower the temperatures a little bit? I was thinking about treating myself to one for my bday :icon16:. So two questions about that:
1)When I did the 16g swap I never removed the exhaust manifold, so is it a big ordeal to take it off and put in a new one?
2) Does a new manifold change the exhaust note at all?

I hear good things about SFP (South Florida Performance) tubular manifolds. They don't really have them on their website, but I guess if you call they will give you more info.

Go DNP for the manifold. It might change the sound, but not enough to be noticable. Stay away from the ebay manifold, SSAutoChrome is total crap. They actually GLUE their compressor housings together. Anyway, things melting are normal, the 16g will make ALOT more heat than the T25 obviously, so bolt on both heat shield and you're good to go. You never fried an alternator from the heat?

So if I get the tubular one's then that would eliminate having to use a heat shield right?
