2 questions, 1) in an 86 iroc my air intake hose has a piece of tubing that connects to a hole in my valve cover, is a bad thing that i cant get the piece of tubing back onto the hole in the vlave cover. 2) for a quick trip to more horse power, what problems if any am i looking at if i install a NOS kit to my stock 86 iroc with a carb 305. (looking at investing into an open element, or dual snorkle)

Well, it's somewhat bad. That tube brings in clean filtered air to your valves. Without that tube, your valves will still be getting air, but they'll be getting dirty air which is never a good thing.

Well, depends.. If it's stock, then Id say it wouldn't last long at all. Especially sice it's almost 20 years old. If you want your engine to hold up any, then you would really need to build up the engine with forged internals.
