92 Cherokee Starting Issues

Hey all,
I have a 92 Cherokee 4.0L, it starts after a turning over several times before it catches and starts, also it has a clicking noise when it starts that peaks and then goes away after about 5 secs, it is annoying and I would like to rid of it, does anyone have a solution? It comes from the engine. I am also at 197,000K and am looking to do a complete tune-up what do you suggest changing/replacing/refilling/upgrading????

sounds like the fuel pump relay may be clicking on and off. Have somebody turn it over while you isolate the clicking and see if it is coming from one of the relays.
