A friends 2001 TC left front power window will go down but not up. It does not make any unusual sounds going down, and when you try to run it up, it does nothing. No motor sound at all. I am thinking the switch is bad but wondered if anyone has had this problem.

Probably the bushings in the motor are shot so go here for the DIY article:

Check to see if there is voltage to the switch. If there is, it's not the switch. If the window does move as you say then it's almost positively the bushings.
The bushing and gear kit can be purchased at just about any auto parts store (HELP Section) or on ebay. Good luck

Hello
I had the same problem with my 91 town car. The switch was dirty and not making contact. I used some electric contact cleaner in a spray can to clean it out. I took the switch out of the panel, and pulled the plastic chrome switch top off. I hosed it several times and worked the switch back and forth. Finally it was working just fine. It took a while to clean it up but it was worth it,I didn't want to have to buy a new switch. Good luck :2cents:
