My 01' supercrew 5.4 code is p1780 transctrl sw circuit out of range.
Ok, does this mean any thing to anybody? Shifting funny. HELP ME!

That deals with the OD button. It indicates a broken wire or a short to ground. If all wres are good, suspect the PCM.

The guy that rebuilt my tranny says i need the neutral switch that bolts on the side with an elec plug and attaches to the slide lever. He says that tells computer how to shift. What this thing does is when it shifts it takes a second to shift and then you feel it go in gear. Any output on that before i buy the part. Thanx

That part is a good possibility. However, you can install it yourself. There are lines on the switch that need to line up when it is installed with shifter in neutral. Not a hard job.
