Civic Type R

Aight... i have $7,000 for a new car. I will be swapping in a B18C5 no matter if I get EG (92-95) or an EK (96-98/99?). Now, I am leaning slightly toward the EK and painting it Championship White w/ carbonfiber hood. As far as other exterior mods, i'll be purchasing a type r wing. Not sure which rims i want yet. But I will be decal-ing the car like a JDM Civic Type R. Now, if i do JDM the EK and do the Integra Type R swap, is it possible to boost the engine with a JRSC? (jackson racing supercharger) If so, how much power to the wheels should I be putting out? Also, as far as quarter mile times, what should I be looking forward to? I feel that I'm a pretty good racer, decent reaction time, etc. What are your guys thoughts? Is this a worthwhile project? I have about $11,000 to drop into body/engine mods/swaps/etc. Let me know what you guys thing. Thanks.

Can someone post a pic of the real Civic Type R for reference to show what my car should look like once it's completed. Thanks

i think stock ITR's run 14.5 in the quarter.....stock trim.....plus if you happen to get the EG......a vx for example....i think that car weighs about 2200 or something....not too sure on that.......you should be runnign......maybe 14.3's.....depending on where you're at......and i think i've seen dyno sheets of blown b18c5's .....i think at hondata.com......pumping over 200 @ wheels.....i think that would probably get lower 14's to high 13's rite?......just on top of my head guys.....correct me if i'm wrong......ohyea.....
i live in longbeach and got a few good pics of a GENUINE civic type-r......rhd and all........sorry i can't upload pics though.....no scanner....i'll try to get it for you though....

You know that civic type r is a hatchback? Just Checking.

If you have money you should get a Brand NEW2002 CIVIC SI and convert it to a type r. The New SI's are the same model as the new Type Rs

If you doing the generation before that you should get a hatch paint it like a dull white. But don't put a type r logo on the side unless you find the official type r sticker not those stupid ass ones made by APC (All Pussy Corporation. I know there is a on-line store that sells replica Honda Type R Rims. Let me know if you are interested in those. But yeah keep in touch i want to know how this project goes! also what you think of my suggestion? Good Luck!!

Oh yeah go here for new civic type r pics

Why put the stickers on? Is your car a Type-R? Nope. Why call it one? that's all i'm sayin'

plus, if you get the 5-lug conversion, interior, suspension, exterior, and a B18C5 you'll be pretty much faster than a stock Civic type-R. that's like putting EX emblems on an Si or something.

plus the USDM version of those hatches aren't EGs and EKs. The 92-95 is an EH and the 96-00 is an EJ.

Also, 11 grand is a little low. $5,500 is gone on the engine. So thats....hmmm...$5,500 left over. The paint will be like 3 grand for a quality paintjob (maybe less, maybe more) so that leaves you with $2,500. then the 5-lug conversion will be like $1,800 so now you have 700.

Gets pretty expensive doesn't it? Do a bit more research to plan the project better. Makes it a lot easier :)

i didn't know that the usdm chassis codes were different from the jdm ones.....that's good to know....thanks for the info.....what about 88-91 civics?.....the jdm ef?......

also.....don't forget installation man.....unless you want to install and b18c into your hatch by yourself.....that 700 bucks is gone......probably more...........damn.....forget the 5-lug conversion.....i don't see any reason to....put some jdm rotors?.....jdm type-r rims?.....does it matter?.....but it's just my opinion......dont' wanna discourage you or anything.......get 91 hatchback....

91 hatch - 3000
b18c swap w/ installation - 6500-7000
rota slipstreams (hey....spoon fakes still look good) - 500
tires - 500
any body kit you want - about 1100
paint - 3000
2 grand left for little stuff....jdm lights.....boltons....wateva wateva.....

only thing im not sure about is the swap.....spoon has a b18c powered ef.....i don't know if it's very good for street use.....i heard the motor is a bit tall.....so you can't drop the car much....not too sure...
you can always changeover to a drysump oil system.....:D:D:D.....i think you're able to mount the motor 3 inches lower...
