Ok, i know this would be EXTREMELY expensive to do, and maybe even a dumb question, but would it ever be possible to put a V8 engine into a 98 GP???

Anything is possible and like you said it would be very expensive. If you have the money why not put a SC 3.8 in your car. Much easier to do and parts are readily available. You can mod the 3.8 and it would give you V8 performance.

Someone, only the Lord knows why, did in fact put a small block Chevy V8 (LT1/LS1) into a late model Grand Prix. He even put it up on Ebay for around $26K. The engine was where the back seat sits and it was converted to rear wheel drive. So it has been done and for big bucks.

I wasn't an eye witness but, I've read that the cadillac northstar V8 is a direct bolt in match. With wire harness and PCM installed as well. Also read you don't get much more power than the super charged 3800

There is a guy on Cardomain that is putting a Cadillac engine in a 94 GP, can't remember the users name, but the opening line is "Trevs Cadillac" or something along those lines. I would get the link, but I'm at work with dial up...it would take too long to find the link.
