Well I just got done installing a CAI on my friend's 99 Civic EX. I don't remember removing the plastic being such a bitch on my 92 Civic. lol
Anyways, the check engine light is now on. Is there something I might've done in the installation that could've caused this problem specifically?

Odd thing, that happened to me. But I never fixed a thing. When I gassed it up a day or two later and the light went away making me believe that the person who gassed it up for me didn't close the cap correctly. I only do self serve, now.
But I highly doubt that's the case for you. Just make sure everything is connected.

pull off the negative cable on the battery, wait about 10 seconds and put it back on. If the light is still on go get the code pulled. It's on because of the extra air it's getting all of a sudden.

the 96+ (OBDII) have that sensor right on the intake. make sure that is plugged into the intake and getting air otherwise youll get a CEL.
