I need to replace the blower resistor in my 2001 Ford Taurus. I have never done this before, but would like to so I can save some money. Therefore I have a few questions. First, how much would a blower resistor cost for my Taurus? Second, where is the blower resistor located? Lastly, Is this something I can replace on my own or am I over my head?

Part costs about $15 @dealer. Easy to replace. Located behind radio, I believe only 2 scews hold resitor in place.

It's not behind the radio, it's behind the glove box, or it's really attached to the evaporator housing, easy to get to,just remove the black plastic cover under the dash on the passenger side. Two plastic push pins hold it in place. Look up under the dash ( under the glove box)
you will see it attached to the housing right next to the blower motor. Two 8 mm bolts hold it in place. Go get the part first, then you can match it up to know what your looking for.
A trained monkey could replace it in under 15 minutes.
