Owned My First 05 Gt

I get to work this morning when this guy who works in the next building ask me if i was interested in racing his freinds 05 gt, well we did and we went to some empty industrial street and the first race i spun the tires but i caught up and beat him by half a car length, the second time i had a perfect launch and i owned him by 2 car lengths. :evillol: you have got to love the lt1

I did have a 2005 Saleen pull up next to me at a light. I looked over, gave it a small rev....nothing.

The guy said he couldn't launch well, i told him that's his problem and that a race is a race no excuses.

EDIT- That is if it was an S7.. dont know about the Mustangs though because even the 2nd model has about 400ish HP while the extreme ones got 500.. thats pretty nice.

As far as I know, the Mustang Saleen is basicly just body mods for the new style. Either way, doubt that would have beaten me.

Actually the Mustang Saleen is pretty nice (Did I just say that?) well the Extreme one anyways.. that has 500 HP, pretty niiiice :)

Also I like Saleen even though he builds stuff for Ford, but man that S7 is a BEAST!

Here's the HP ratings for all three diferent Saleen Mustangs..

Base - 325 HP, 340 TQ
S/C - 400 HP, 420 TQ
Extreme -500 HP, 480 Torque.

But ofcourse after you're done with your car, Luos.. even the Extreme wont be able to get ya. :thumbsup:

um u show me a saleen that has 500 hp and ill pull a monkey out my ass! (out the box that is) and im sure he would have a good race with a saleen but i dont think it would win. that car is not that great...big bucks for all name not for go. and im pissed i cant get anyone in a 05 mustang...v6, gt, roush none of them will race me, and i try everytime i run up on one...that suxx ass

I had a 89 rs which i gave to my younger brother and everyone and there mother would want to race now that i got my 95z28 people just dont even bother

i have trouble getting people to race... it sux... i got a hell of a lot of races, and lost most of them, when my car was stock and half red and half primer...

I swear. I feel like king of the road lately, it sucks, I spend my pass time tightening bolts now and thats no fucking fun especially since they were already tight. I need something that will make me open my garage door and scatch the top of head and reach in my nearly empty pockets and say. Whats a little more debt.

One of them wants a race with me once I am up and running again. He, like me, would like to know what this 402ci will be able to do. If I keep up fairly well....I will be happy. SOB traps 122 MPH 5800 feet up. I plan on trapping around 114 MPH here.

I swear, once you start walking C6's and Cobra's. You can't help but be somewhat cocky. I just remember the days of when I had a 5.0 stang that I modded and thought it was the baddest shit around with right around 300 horse and a VW bug with a rainbow paint job smoked me and put me in my place. A week later I was swapping gears , installing a ignition system, putting in a texas turbo cai. I plan on supercharging slightly down the road but I just need one good ass kicking just to give me the nudge I need.

Is your LT1 stock?? Or mostly stock??
If so, it would be close.

intake, exhaust, lt4 hotcam, 30lb injectors, heavy duty timing set (so i can turn 6500 rpm :evillol:) 6-speed tranny adjustible rear suspension alluminum driveshaft and such... oh and electirc water pump and a tune...

soon to have delteq opti-direct ignition system...

future upgrades (like hopefully before summer) 3.73 gears, 52mm throttle body and laughing gas

I hear you John. I wasn't taking my car out much, but I honestly couldn't find any races. Not that I was looking, just no one would fuck with my car. Never got the chance to run a Cobra. I wanted to though.
I think the way my car was, I could pull on a C6. Not hard, but I would pull.

i've ran a few '03-'04 cobras... beat a few, lost to a few, always very close races...

no nos for me thank you. I am going to add a tiny charger. like 4.5 - 6 PSi and then I am done. I am getting mid 20's miles per gallon now while make right around the 500 mark. I don't need more than say 650 for a street car or it would be too tempting come every red light.

well i'm around 400hp now... and that's plenty for day to day driving... having the option to up the ante whenever i see a good race will be a sweet option... plus alot less work and fabrication... plus its not like they make forced induction kits for lt1 third gens...

i used to be that way... then i realized how much trouble/time it would take to make a forced induction kit for my car... the bottle is a much better option for me... you guys don't really have that problem, they do make kits for you cars... not that the kits are extrememly easy... just easier than it would be for me...

plus out of the box... the bottle is much cheaper than forced induction...

I don't have anything against nitrous, just not my way of making power. It all works to get you down the track faster.

if u think that car has 500hp then im sending u to the import forum for 3 weeks. no mustang has 500hp out the box. that car would put out 420 - 440 best. now with spray im sure it would lay down 500hp then it may break but hey it may do it. just like the new cobra is said to be comming with 500hp...it wont! so like i said 3 pages ago.... show me a mustang with 500 out the box and ill give u that monkey, ass show! and nitrous isnt as bad as alot of people make it out to be, i understand why some dont use it, but i dont understand why some folks knock it. its a power adder that works better than anything else out.

To me its like steriods for your car. Sure your car needs gas like your body needs water but NOS is a artificial power adder. Now after saying that, I have complete respect for a win with NOS, cause superchargers and Turbo are artificial power also and your engine is still making that power , its just getting some help along the way. I just would prefer to always have my power on tap without the need to worry if my tank is going to run out on me and this guy is going to fly by me and knowing myself I would always have one hand on the wheel and one hand on the button, so in the long run a charger or turbo would definetly be my best bet.
