I'm lookin to buy a new set of tires for the truck. size 275/45/R20. Anyone have any suggestions on which is the best out there for your buck?
I've done a bit of research and so far I'm still with the Goodyear Eagle GTII's. These are what I have on now, but I was lookin to go with a directional performance tire. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have Hankook (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=464205) and they've been great.
Had them since May and they've been great. They were the cheapest tires I could get for my 20's. 275/40/20. I like them a lot. I believe within that tire size the next tire brand was like $60 more.

So was I, but the guy at Discount sort of talked me into it. But I needed a cheap set and figured I'd try them out. They've been really great tires, in the wet and dry. If you'd like I can take a pic of them close up so you can get an idea of what they look like after 5 months of driving.

I just put Falkin on. They came highly recommended. Their tread life is rated around 460 and they're considered high performance (up to 130 mph). They're 285's and ride really nice and quiet and handle great. They only cost $113 each at Big O Tires.

You could try checking with Toyo (proxes), BFG makes some good performance tires. I think even good year makes some, Eagle 1's I believe. Michelin Pilots are another. Good luck deciding.

Might try looking at this Goodyear link. This is the same tire used on the SS and the VHO trucks.

Hey man chill!:thefinger Just playin'. Yea they're dirty, but I didn't feel like spraying them down with cleaner b/c then everything sticks to them.
SC if you'd like I can email them to you, drop me a pm with it. Im on my dads office computer now and can see them so im surprised you and W.L cannot. I did the same thing I did with the pics of my truck, through Photobucket, so I dunno.

Just a couple questions about em...how's the ride? are they quiet? if you punch it off the line do they grab or spin?

Well going from a 35 series to a 40 series it's a pretty big ride difference. A lot softer, and they are quiet. Not sure how to describe them as being quiet though, but they seem so to me. They do definately grip and go. They spin depending on the surface really. Some concrete is just really slick, but they tend to grab quickly. Going around a corner fast they squeal slightly but also grab nicely and hold the truck to its path.

Alright, I went out today to a few tire shops and got some prices on a few sets of tires.
1. Yokohama HTS
2. Falken S/TZ-04
3. Kumho Ecsta
Anyone have any opinions on these particular brands?

I have the Falkens...nice tire (rated to 130 mph and almost as smooth as 16 year old Scotch!!!)

I'm probably gonna go with the Yokohama's. The treadwear is a little better than the falkens with a 60,000 mile warranty and free road hazard for only $10 more per tire. Plus its got a H rating.

I put Firestone Destination LE on my truck and I like them so far.
Yeah, but at least Mexico and Canada are North America. We're hemorrhaging money and jobs to those countries (Like we are to the middle and far east). I think soon we are going to get what we are asking for.
On another note, my truck is in the Chevy dealer for ABS recall today. Can't wait to hear what they say...

That's exactly what I mean. Mexico and Canada are not really what I think of when I think foreign.

Look at where all the parts for the truck are made. Majority of the truck is foreign. Besides, america tends to fuck shit up a lot more because they lack good quality control programs.
