Alternator Bearing Replacement

It looks like my alternator bearings are on their way out. I want to get it done asap as it locked up the engine for a moment this morning while trying to start it. Any special tools needed to do this. I could just get a new alternator but the bearings are much cheaper and the stator/coil may be fine.
