(97 Fast Idle

Engine starts fine but engine revs much too high for too long. Very dangerous in winter. Have cleaned the ICV, should I replace it instead? Will this solve the problem? Had the mechanic look at it and they did everything but replace to no avail??

:2cents: Verefy for smooth throttle valve and cable movement. Verefy throttle closes completly, and with no interferance from the cruise control cable. :feedback: Is the check engine light on? Does this occur constantly? Disconnect the ISC connecter, what happens? Disconnect the TPS connecter (located on the opposite end of the throttle shaft), what happens?

Yes does ocurr constantly, summer & winter, does eventually idle down but takes too long especially in winter and is dangerous.
