chevy cav z24

Alright, theres a kid around here who drives a z24, the newer years (not sure of the exact year). He thinks he'll dust me, some other friends of his say he'll win no problem. Hes got headers, intake and exhaust, probably ricey ractive. Big chromes and altezzas too, haha... yea. I have integra gsr, aem cold air intake, comptech exhaust highflow cat, dc headers, (the basics). can he really beat me?

175 hp stock, what do you mean what model, it's a gsr, next best to type R.

you will win. the cavy is prob pushin 160 hp and about the same torque, while you are at about 200 and maybe 140-150 torque.

If he has the chrome wheels on it when he races, no, if runs without them it should be a good race.

It'd be a good race, if it wasn't for his riced-out, overweight wheels.

The big chromes definately hurt...so does his 4 speed auto (its auto right?)...I think you will take him...oh and you know theres a non-specific racing forum where you can ask these questions

alright thanks guys, no its a 5 speed. but, recently i beat my friends 3000gt SL by a car length, and he just told me he raced the z24, and pretty much demolished. its on video, i think by like 7-8 car lengths, marked off at a perfect 1/4 mile.

where is that section for posting about racing?

Its the section called Racing. But they kinda frown on hypotheticals unless your actually gonna race. I'd post in the nonspecific subsection of Racing, not the street racing part.

You're friend must have raced a 94 or older Z24, or his SL is modded, or the Z24 wasn't racing, or it wasn't a Z24. There is no way a stock SL is beating a stock 2.4 Z24 by 7-8 lenghths.

He'll smoke your ass in 3rd gear,don't bother.This race was over before it started...

haha thanks, you scared me for a second... the SL is modded, but so is the z24. the cavy is a 98 or 99 i think. they have pretty much the same mods. It's on video, not a lie, i can try to get it posted. It seriously wasn't even a race. hes a good driver too. he even said he got smoked.

I'm not saying that you're a liar, however what I am saying is that a 98-99 Z24 shouldn't get beat by a 3000GT SL by 1-2 lengths let alone 7-8.

maybe he gave up when he was behind by a couple car lengths, didn't sound like it from the video. once the 3000gt hits about 65, no matter what model (sl or vr4), those things fly.
