BCM Question

I have a 1999 V6 Camaro that decided one day that the dash cluster light and now I find out the tail lights just quit working on. I checked the fuses and I had a blown number 5 fuse (tail lights and DRL and a few other things). I replaced the fuse and as soon as I turned the lights on manually the fuse popped. So I replaced that fuse and pulled the car into the garage and lowered the door to make the sensors turn the lights on, as soon as it was dark enough the new fuse popped. From the research (little I might add) I have been able to do I am somewhat confused. Is the DRL module and the BCM all the same creature or are they 2 completely different creatures? Also any suggestions anyone can give as to what to look at or try next would be greatly appreciated. By the way I put a volt meter on the main fuse box under the hood and everything seems fine there, so it seems to indicate something inside the car around the dashboard.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

There was a wiring short. It was found and the problem was fixed, granted it took FOREVER to find it because it was located in a seam at the back of the car but none the less it was found and fixed. Thank you for your advice.

well obviously you have a short somewhere... i can only suggest checking out the different lights that are on that circuit for damaged wires and such... or you could go ghetto style and just throw in a stronger fuse and see if that fixes it haha

Thank you so much for your reply. I have actually already tried putting a bigger fuse in just to see. Example it takes a 20 and I put in a 25 and 30 and both of those blew within seconds of activation. This is why I was questioning the BCM and DRL. I have gotten confused with the mentionings of the 2 in all the documentation I have read so far. Some places mention Daytime Running Lights Module then mention the Body Control Module, which leads to the question of are they the same thing or not. Again any help would be appreciated we love this car and want to get her back in good running shape, then trick her out.
