Waz up guys? I have a 1997 Camaro 3.8 V6, i made a CAI intake out of 3" inch pvc and use a round racing filter. I also drilled a hole in the pvc for the sensor that checks the tempature of the air....the thing looks good, however, it makes a horrible loud sucking noise. I know this isnt normal. I've heard CAI 's on other cars (even 4 bangers) and they sound beefy....please help!!!

Go to a parts store and look at the rubber grommets they have near the pcv section, you may find something that will fit. If not, I'd try a little Permatex around the sensor to seal that air leak...

you must have created a serious vacuum lead somehow most likely as ct91rs eluded to. albeit some suction is concidered normal depending on how wide you ran the tubing and how short.

The factory intake makes a wierd sucking sound also, just not as loud as the homemade intake. I made a completly new intake and still the same results. The sound is not beefy at all with the homemade intake just loud sucking noise. Sounds horrible.....not sure what the problem is! I have check all the fittings and no air leaks.......Please help.

It's the style air filter you used. I bought an intake off ebay a while back that looked similiar to this: http://www.mattdesmond.com/ebay/DAC_intake1.jpg
Is that the style filter you used? If so, then it's normal. When I put it on it made this really loud hissing sound which bothered me at first and made me think something was wrong, but I got used to it and found it was normal.
