91 prelude Si RPM is running high

The RPM in my 91 Prelude Si is running at 3000rpm when my speed is at 40mph. Can anyone tells me what went wrong.

check the clutch cus my lude was runing aound 5000 rpms goin 25mph...and when it stop runnin my mechaninc said i needed a new clutch
