Anyone know if the JDM P73 (Type R) ecu is emission friendly here in the states? I'm located up in Washington where all they do is hook up their computer to the ecu and tests through there, so i would have to make sure i could pass every 2 years. Also i'm finding more OBD2b's than OBD2a's so does anyone know how much it might cost to go to a dealership to get the immobolizer out? Thanks for any and all help!!!

Ok, ive been drinking a bit, but if you keep your old ecu, shouldn't you be able to put it in to pass the tests, and then swap it out for the better one?

yes i could just put it back in, but being still in highschool with money being tight i would sell the old ECU to help pay for the new one. i just don't want to be swapping ecu's back and forth. i want it to be put in, and have it stay in. any idea's from those out there that are still sober :)

Ok here's the deal, there's a P73 ecu out of a 98 Type R that's for sale for $200. If from what i've read, the OBD2b came out around 99' so it should be obd2a right? easy "plug an play" kinda thing? Please respond ASAP cause i'd like to get a jump on this. Thanks for everything!
