ok here is the deal the origonal engine in the car was a 305 5.0 tbi but at the time it was going down hill fast, so i went out to buy an new 305 ( $2000 or so) for it but instead the place i had purchased it from got it mixed up and gave me a 350 lt1 engine ($4000) for a corvette (aluminum heads and god knows what cam), needless to say i put it in and kept the engine "ha ha ha" after switching everything in the car over to match the 350 engine (computer, sensors etc...) i am having a problem with an error code. i looked it up and its saying that the esc or something like that isnt functioning correctly. so i swaped that with another brand new one and i still get the code. it only happens when i hit the breaks then hit the gas right away to take off. after the check engine light comes on the car looses all h.p. and is slow as all hell ( as if the timing was being retarted by the computer ). i went ahead and checked for vacume leaks and there are none. anyone have any suggestions? the only thing that is stock on that car is the body, frame, and exaust.

ok the error code is 43 witch is relating to the:
1. front o2 sensor
2. tps sensor
3. knock sensor
4. esc (electronic spark control)
another question would be is it possible that a stuck valve or something could set off the knock sensor?

Sounds like the knock sensor is gone to me. Check the wire running to it first of course. But it sounds likes its gone south....

I checked the sensor but it is working and there are no shorts or anything in the wire that i can tell.

two reasons why the exaust is still stock.
1. i dont have the funds for it.
2. i dont know a whole lot about exaust systems do you have any suggestions?

Have you used a scan tool of some kind to read the # of knock counts that you are getting?
Are you using the knock sensor for an LT1?
I seem to recall that those are really sensitive and many LT1 9C1 owners would swap to an LT4 sensor as they are less sensitive. Also I would bet that there is some kind of a compatability issue between the LT1 sensor and what the L05 computer is expecting....
