Kennwood D-Mask

I'm trying to decided on a H/U and I'm almost completly sold on the KDC-x859... does anyone else have this one? Or the 759 or 659? Anything with the D-Mask... I wanna know if this thing is gonna sit flush in my 98 Civic. I just thought the D-Mask would look totally sweet sittin flush againt my dash when the power's off... if anyone's got some pics that would be great too...

the D-Mask design has never been that great IMO... it sticks out to much and if you look at the frame around the HU the left and right sides are so wide compared to the rest of the trim. but if you put it in the lowest DIN pocket near the shifter and it might look pretty good.

Yeh I thought about that but I don't wanna be reaching down there while I'm driving to change CD's... and I wanna show it off while it's on anyways... what do you mean by sticking out too far? Does it not sit flush in the dash? My buddy has a new Kenwood (forget the model number) and his sticks out but I just thought it was a jacked up install...

I've got a KDC-X917 and it sits perfectly flush in my dash. Maybe it was the install...

Kenwood is the shit, I'd go for it. Of course, I'd get D-MASK+, just to be lazy.:D

OK, sweet... that's exactly what I wanted to hear... I'll try and get some pics of the install up as soon as I get it.

Yeah do that, I'd like to see them. The only thing I don't like about the excelon series is that the finish is shiny, I think the flat black is more concealable.

Go for it. I've got the X-859 and in my opinion looks the best in any car. Simply because it's flush with the rest of the dash. That was a MAJOR reason for choosing it. The price wasn't too bad considering I have complete control of every possible adjustment I could think of needing for my system. It's worth it. Other HU will always look out of place. The Kenwood does too, but looks like a better install.
