Destroying MAXI fuses....fast

Alright, I purchased a car today. 1995 Ford Taurus 3.0. I went to jump the car....first time, and notied that my maxi fuses for the ignition switch was blon 60A. I promply replaced, only to blown another one. Please, does anyone have any tips, I have no power to anything at all!!

I would just about bet that you have a severe short somewhere just before the fuse box inside. Take a meter and measure the voltage between the frame and one side of the Maxi-fuse socket. You should find battery voltage. Then, measure (also from the frame) the ohms to the other side of the fuse socket. You should find at least some resistance, if not an open. If you find a very low resistance, if not a dead short (less than .1 ohms), that would explain the blown fuses. Find and fix the cause of the short or you'll keep popping fuses.

I hope you got it at a bargin-basement price. Good luck finding the short!
