Are you a crazy driver?

Was driving today, and was watching the most erratic driver ever in front of me, and it was a middle-aged woman too. She was pulling in and out of lanes, weaving through cars, and I thought she was bound to cause an accident.

Are you a crazy driver?

Sometimes. If I see another dude or chick my age driving like that I like to play along too. Other times I'm late or angry and can't handle people cock blocking me so I cut people off and leave them behind.

other times I just pump the stereo and go a few miles under the speed limit and stay in one lane. Jus cruzin.

I drive calm and relaxed, but I am an aggressive driver and I usually drive 5-10MPH over the limit, sometimes more on the freeway mainly because it is only 65MPH here in Utah on the interstate and I usually go 75-80MPH.

I drive very calmly, but assertively. Emotion doesn't have any place in making driving decisions. I drive as cool and collectively as possible. The only time I end up driving what others might view as "aggressively" is if I get "in the zone" / in the flow / integrated. Then you just do. But it's not based on aggressive emotions. It's based on the incredible high you feel when you're one with your vehicle.

I always drive fast, and i do tend to weave between traffic. Not in a dangerous, loony way, but it's a bad habit nonetheless.

When I have just filled up on gas and know I've got an entire week's supply(sometimes a bit less :uhoh: ) I'll drive like a nut having fun and feeling the torque of my car going 0-60 just to chirp second gear for that ever satisfying  on my face.

I also tend to drive a bit aggressively when I have a girl in the car. Those sexy Asian girls who tend to usually date guys with Hondas don't always have the priviledge of being thrown into thier seat at half throttle

Well.. when I'm driving I usually try and get there as fast as possible without driving like crazy, so I'll accelerate hard, drive fast, and pass cars. But if it's really heavy traffic, I'm not going to be weaving in and out just to get one car length ahead.

I'm an aggressive driver, i usually don't let shit slide either.

ESPECIALLY when it's a women or an old person... Cause they've proven to be the worst drivers in my area.

I'll drive fast (sometimes) but will never tailgate or squeeze through tight spots. Doing that is just looking for a wreck. I try to adjust my speed so I have as much space as possible all around me. No accidents for over 20 years!

-Forgot to mention that, about traffic. Ever see people in traffic "swiftly" cutting through cars, at like 20mph. They don't realize that they will get there no sooner by doing shit like that.

I can see passing people if they are driving slow..that's justified. I think everyone has been behind some 17 yr old girl in her new G35 yapping on the cell phone in the fast lane doing 50mph.

Im like AlmostStock here.. except the 20 years driving experience.

I drive fast and furious, but not like the movie, I do weave in and out of traffic but trying to keep it safe too, I tend to speed as well and never tailgate, I hate people who do that, I always keep a safe space from the car infront of me, enough for me to brake atleast.

If I see people weaving in and out of traffic in my rear view mirror or something, I box em in. :evillol:

i got a 110 speedo, and i've completely pegged it a few times... even tho 110 is the last notch, the needle still turns to about 135 or so... even at 135 my car still pulls like a SOB i love it, i've prolly been up to 150-5 or so

normally i'm very calm, i just accelerate quick, i can't stand people who barely push the pedal or drive under the speed limit, i cruise at the speed limit unless i'm on the interstate, cuz the limit is too low on the interstate and my car can't stand to go slow on an open interstate :evillol:

I'm a crazy driver. Piss me off and block me in and I'll split lanes to get by you. I had a GTP pacin an old lady at 50ish (70mph speed limit), then he'd gun it to the next slow car and pace (I drive an Escort so I can't out gun him). I finally got pissed off enough that I caught an empty on ramp and jumped around the person being paced. Before GTP dude noticed I wasn't behind him, I was in front boxing him in.

Yeah, I scare people that ride with me. I don't give a fuck what people think of my driving.

That's called road rage. Eventually you'll get shot or something, or end up in a wreck. You can only do crap like that so long before it catches up with you. I hope you only take yourself when it does.

When I see people endangering others like that I never f*** with them on the road. I get their license number, contact my family police officer to get their address, and pay them a surprise visit. I always leave a note so they know why stuff "accidentally" happened to them. Endanger me, my passengers, or my vehicle and you'll pay.

the few times i've driven (not old enough for UK license yet) on the street, in a friends car, when people tailgate me on the notorious Hendon way (near me) i like to floor it an gain a fair distance, then slam the brakes on, i love watchin the tailgaters clench their teeth as they see the brak lights burn bright red.

it's something i learned from my mum. when she has a tailgater either she floors it an leaves them in the dust (Audi TT quattro-turbo, it's pretty quick) or she slams the brakes on (only in my dad's golf, never in her own car)

yes, i know it's stupid me driving without a licence an could land me in jail or with a 2 year (minimum i think) driving ban, which stops me gettin a license at all. but the only times i've done that is when friends are too drunk to drive home, so i drive instead...

...as if i'd turn down a drive in a turbo FTO.

And it's not called road rage, it's called rushing to the hospital cause your mother-in-law was just rushed to ER in an ambulance.

Actually the only thing I have ever actually done (so far) was leave a note. When they get a note telling them I know what they did on the road and now know where they live, I figure that's enough. Others may not be so nice.

My point is if you purposely mess with people on the road (like many drivers here say they like to do) shit can happen. It could be the guy with the gun, the guy smashing his car into yours, (I've seen it) or the guy you never even noticed because he didn't do anything, except calmly write down your license number to get even with you later.

Wouldn't you feel bad if you caused a wreck and hurt or killed someone? It's just not worth the risk.

I misunderstood you the first time, I guess. I don't mess with people for the hell of it. If I see someone flying up behind me, I move over and let them get what's coming to 'em. I'll stay out of lunatics ways to give them the best path to get the hell off the road. But at the same time, if you're tailgating me, or hindering my path of travel on purpose, expect me to do something about it that you won't like. I will make the duration of your trip a living hell

Wouldn't you feel bad if you caused a wreck and hurt or killed someone? It's just not worth the risk.
who wouldn't?

I have been gunned down, unfortunately. Which I guess goes inline with this statement I just made:
Be careful what "accidentally" happens to people. You never know who they are.
Dude was pacing a slow car (common occurance around here), and I finally managed my way around (not using the on/off ramps) and was on my way at about 80mph. Then the car comes flying up alongside me, so speed up to about 90. He matches. Then the passenger window comes down and I see a gun come up in the passengers hand being pointed at ME. I nailed the clutch and brake and went 90->30 damn near instantly. He slowed as well waiting for me to catch up. I gunned it and shot ahead of him headed for 120mph, which I successfully attained, only to have him gaining to match it. He got up along side me again and I hit the brakes, again, only this time I cut over and clipped his rear (premeditated) and sent him spinning. I went off the left shoulder, regained control and got back on the road and hauled ass. Didn't look back. This was pretty close to a bridge and I have no regrets if they wound up dead.

For all of you who go out of your own way to fuck with another persons day...

fuck you.

If you don't like it that they are trying to get around cars, get over it.
As soon as you start fucking with them, that's when you push that driver to the extreme. Grow up. You're as bad as the people with guns. And how do you know they don't have an emergency? While you're sitting there laughing and smiling because you cock blocked him, this person with an emergency is being slowed down by some immature little fuck who thinks its funny. You aren't the karma police. Interfering with other peoples' lives is bad for your own karma. Just let them go and learn their own lesson. Or maybe one day you'll be unfortunate enough to learn why not to do that.

one last note... if you're ever trying to slow somebody down, and that ends up causing you to be in an accident, I would be the first one to tell you you deserved it. Maybe they shouldn't be speeding through cars, but you shouldn't be meddling with fate. Mind your own business.

one last OTHER note.... thats why I love my stereo system. If people cock block me I just rattle their car until they get sick of it.

2. Drives like they are a proffesional driver, hit it off the line, and weave throught traffic.

I usually get in one lane and stick to it. If a car does end up going slower than I like, I'll pace them a few cars back and let all the idiots go around. Occasionally, I'll dodge through traffic, but only when there is a few cars length between vehicles, I don't like close quarters in cars.

Now, I've gotten good at high speed turns. There is this one road here that has a light with a left turn onto the feeder. I take that turn about 20-25 which is a nice easy turn, most others probably take it 15-20. The immediete right after that though I take atleast 45. It's the equivelent of turning from the middle of a 3 lane road to the middle of another 3 lane road. I actually turned left a little bit the other day, then hit it right really hard. I probably freaked all the other drivers out.

When I'm on public roads though, I take the speed limit, maybe 5 over. Highways, I'll do 5-10 over. Speaking of which, some idiot in their black magnum decided it'd be fun to tailgate me, so, I gave them a nice hard brake check then floored it. Didn't accelerate too quickly thank's to Honduhs pimpin VTAK. Anyways, once we merged with the main highway, they flew bye at 90-100, I just laughed at their stupidity and drove behind the 18 wheeler.

It was more of a tap of the brakes. After that, they backed off a bit. I don't like it when I can't see atleast the bottom of the front bumper, I prefer to be able to see the wheels though.

After reading Rick's post, I can see what you mean. I wasn't intentionally blocking them in though. I was going 15 over the limit, in the left lane which is the one I needed to be in to get onto the other high so I could get home from school. They just happened to be going faster and wanted to get there quicker.

Holy shit. I get mad sometimes at people, but how can anyone justify shooting someone for bad driving? That doesn't make the least bit of since time. Anyone that has that kind of thought pattern deserves to die. IMO

Since being on this forum I don't drive as stupid as I used to. Back in the day I would pass up traffic going 100mph, and not even think about it. After experiencing a view close calls however, I'm not as risky.

In the day I raced my friend down a road the intersected another road, and I couldn't stop fast enough, and almost hit a dakota crossing the perpindicular road.

ANother time I accelerated off the on ramp (when I was with my friend), and got up to 100mph, and some douschebag prick in an expedition decided it would be a good idea to teach me a lesson. He pulled into my fucking lane doing 60mph knowing I was going much faster. I came about 3 feet from his bumper before I could brake fast enough to match his speed. asshole.

Whenever I get an open road though I'll top my car out without worrying. I'll take corners to my limits too if it's clear, and I know the road. I tone it down a bit with other people in the car, but I'll still get crazy on open roads with them.

I'll get a little more bold when I'm racing other people, but even then I back off when they totally cross the line. If I think they are too immature to race I'll back off so I don't have to explain why they wrecked, and killed themselves.

RickwithaTbird

^ true

however, you have to understand about the expedition... when you are changing lanes into the slow lane, you aren't looking back 300 feet for someone doing 100mph off the on ramp. You have to approach that situation with proper planning. Examine the lane situations before you get there because IF, just IF somebody does happen to pull in front going 40 MPH slower than you.... you already know where you can go. When you're doing 100 in a 40 mph on ramp, its your responsibility to drive around people in your way. They wont all see you coming, I swear.

Until you change lanes while obeying the speed limit, only to see somebody in your rearview approaching at 100 mph... you'll keep blaming that driver of the expedition. It's happened to me. When someone is behind you going that fast, you don't know what to do. Because you don't know what that crazy fucker is about to do.

I'll admit too that I've done some dangerous shit. Like weaving through traffic at 130 mph. That shit is dangerous. And irresponsible, inconsiderate, rude, stupid.... But god DAMN thats a rush. Its a rush I'm glad I lived through. BUt this was in my younger days. like.... a few months ago. But a random flat tire, and a ditch later, you realize that shit happens. And even at speeds of 40 mph, you arent always in control.

I drive fast but I try not to drive too agressive or inconsiderate. I spent two years in Germany and it has made a much better driver out me. It has also clued me in to the fact that americans can't drive to save their lives. :lol2: I drive my K2500 Suburban like its a K2500 Suburban. It's not a sports car, but it's bigger than you (unless you're in a H2 or Excursion) so people generally stay out of way.

And nobody brake checks a full size truck with a brush guard on the front. :evillol:

I think I'm a fairly sedate driver. I never get road rage and never had any directed at me. I do weave through traffic quite a bit and go significantly faster than the flow (anywhere between 40-80 km/h faster if the conditions allow) but most passengers are usually comfortable with my driving.

I'm guilty of having tried to get that Average Speed reading on the trip computer as high as possible on a few open road trips though :evillol:

well after 3 speeding tickets i've learned not to be crazy driver, still go 10-30mph over but no more lane changing and weaving, thats what gets you noticed. I've also gotten to notice what the Crown Victoria headlights look like from my rear-view (lincoln t/c looks same). not used to the durango's, F-150's, Intrepids,or Cherokee though.
