97 Blazer Can faulty relay cause stalling

My 97 Blazer sometimes fails to light up on starting, I can hear the relay inside glove compartment kick over an light up the dash than it starts without a problem. My question is can this cause the car to stall out later while driving? It lit up the "air bag" idiot light than stalled out. If that relay is bad can it kill the car? I've already, brought the car in for service and had all fuel pressure and pump issues looked at repaired. Thanks for any knowledge you can share.

Ever had the ignition switch changed? 97 models are REALLY prone for them to go bad and cause the problem you are stating plus more.

Thanks Jeremy..Nope, I'll have them looked at the ignition switch when I bring it back, they had found a leak in and replaced the fuel pressure regulator...did you think the relay can cause the stall?

This does sound like an ignition switch issue. The relay click that you are hearing may not be related to the problem. The ignition switches cause problems when they don't supply power to the circuits that they are suppose to. The relay that you are hearing may simply be on the circuit that is faulty, and you are only hearing it when that circuit is provided power by the switch.

If the dash lights are only lighting up ocassionally, and it fails to start when the lights are not lit that is a pretty good indicator of the ignition switch.

I have a '97 Blazer having the same problem, did it end up being the ignition switch.

Thanks Blazee, I'll get that looked at.
