Creaking mustang!

1987 Mustang, 4 cyl/auto, 140,000 miles.

Are 79+ Mustangs known for developing unit body fatigue cracks?

I know about the cracks that develop under the drivers seat (both my 'stangs did that) but my '87 is doing something strange.

This car is completely rust free and generally in very good condition.
I have not found any rust on it anywhere, and no fatigue cracks or accident damage.

I get serious creaking noises from around the front door post area,(both sides) mostly when I step on the brakes. This has been developing slowly after the last 6 months or so.
If I place my left foot over the door and door post area when driving, sometimes I can feel the door post shift a bit, relative to the door, just as the creaking is occuring.

I do not think this is control arm bushings, because there is little or no creaking noises when the suspension moves over bumps.

I think the torque placed on the unit body when braking is twisting the body. Much of the noise seems to be the door hinges, likely because they fit very thightly on the latch post but the hinges are shifting around on the firewall etc as it squirms around.

I have seen this happen with rustbuckets, but never with a rust free car. Does this mean the car is unsafe? At what point should I stop driving it?

I will just say, mustangs are not the best built cars on the road. My 87 squeeked and rattled all over the place. Drove me crazy, I love the ford drive train, but the body integrity is something else.
