I installed a Factory Reman Long block in a 94 Ranger 4X4two weeks ago. along with O2 sensors, the check engine light comes on intermitently. When it does come on, the engine seems to gain power. I was certified at one time, never had this hapen before any ideas, answers? Bernie II

It could be a number of things. Get the codes scanned, I believe Autozone will do it for free if you can get someone experienced enough to go through the procedures. It's the only way to get an idea of what circuit is at fault, especially with the CEL coming on. It could be a matter of a bad connection somewhere that may have happened during the swap. On big jobs like that, I generally scan the codes before I even turn the key over to make sure I didn't forget anything.

i second that taking it to autozone or advanced because any 1 little sensor can cause your problem..it could be weak coil,module,maf,o2,tps,cps.and like he said a plug in on 1 sensor..any one i'd go with his idea on taking it to 1 of the above..
good luck!!!!
