I Hope I Get Hired...

I had an interview with 2 managers at the Bose store..it would be for full time sales/demonstrator. I hope they hire me...jeez, i got the experiance. :naughty:

For the past couple months i've been out of a job, and looking...i've been on alot of interviews, and it seems.....they don't CARE about experiance. :eek:

I honestly think most retail/sales stores want a young, 19/20 year old (i'm 24) that knows NOTHING...just so THAT company can mold them into whatever they want. :banghead: You see, most of the places i go to know i'm a good seller, and have great people skills (office space..lol)... :cwm27: ..but they are probably intimidated by my 6+ years retail/sales experiance.... :smokin: being that NOTHING is commision anymore. :banghead: They rather a new guy..whos a "team player"...and relies on others to make a sale, rather then making it yourself.. :sly:

PS, the main reason why i want this job so bad is that it is easy...40hrs a week, and i can get a 4hr shift night job (like 12am-4 or 5am) to save up the extra pennies for like 6 months....to get my camaro....or mustang..havent decided yet. :screwy:

I too am hoping to get called back for a second interview with a company I interviewed with on Monday. It would be a great start for my career in the business field.

i'm also in the market for a new job and so i went to a staffing agency. today i went to a first interview for one company and a second interview for another company and both went SMASHINGLY well. i'm supposed to find out monday whether i get job the for either company.

solaris, i dont see why any company would hire a younger, inexperienced person over someone with the experience that you do. EXCEPT that you must realize that the company is going to hire the person that is going to cost them the least. which is probably not you. so instead of trying a retail store, try doing sales for some other kind of company like a cable or telephone company. there's major commission attached to jobs like those.

Many companies are not in the market for someone who THINKS they know what they are doing, because they often don't.

Actually believe it or not xokayxo, these jobs i'm going to are offering $10+ an hour..and i'm asking for $10. Yeah it's not such a big pay day for me, but it is good for the time being. :2cents:

You are right about selling for phone company's and doing other sales work though. My bud wants me to work in his company (cablevision) to do cold call type sales, it pays like $15+hr but there is no telling if i would even get looked at cause i don't even have my GED (10th grade drop out).... Ofcoarse i tell smaller places that i graduated....... BTW this place is like 30 miles away....winter, black ice, and my V8 thunderbird with 10% traction in the back SUCKS.. :nono:

I gotta get that GED, it's so damn easy yet i always put it off.. I dropped out of HS to get a job and help people out, but that's another story in itself. :disappoin

BTW, yeah MBTN i'm leaning towards the camaro..mainly the 98/99 SS 6spd LS1 with the ram air hood.. THAT's gonna be my baby.. :rofl:

Bose, nice. Bet you get a pretty decent employee discount. I actually got a job today when I wasn't even looking for one. I was at the grocery store and saw they had strip stake on sale it just hadn't been cleaned or cut into steaks yet. After asking for a weight on one, the guy asked how i wanted it cut. I said just leave it as it is I'll do it myself(cuz they charge extra for that). His reply was "you know how to do that?" Yep used to be a prep-cook. Then he says well you want a job? Sure why not. Cool come in tommorow at 9. Gotta love getting a job when you aren't even looking. Even better is that it pays 11 bucks an hour with full benefits after 6months(i.e. health insurance, paid vacation, and sick days.) They musta been pretty desperate for butchers. Peace-

PBking that's a good job man, i used to have a friend that worked at a deli-free cold cuts all the time :-)

Yeah i'm gonna call Bose up maybe this tuesday, if they don't get back to me..just to see what's going on (company's like when you call them) with me.

PS, hopefully i wont get what best buy did..i call them 4 days AFTER 3, 20 minute interviews with differant managers....then one of them says "oh sorry the position was filled".....

Yea BestBuy did that same thing to me, they were looking for car installers and I came in and after all the interviews, got the manager to take a look at all the stuff I had installed in my car and he was like "ok cool you seem like you know your stuff" Then after like 4 or 5 days I called and they said the same thing. I only work in the food industry now, can't deal with retail after getting fired for telling a customer to fuck off after they were verbally assulting me. At least with this job or any other kitchen job don't have to deal with fucking customers. Peace-

took in my resume to a flooring place today for an office assistant position they are hiring for. the manager looked at my resume as i was filling out the application and when i handed her my completed application she said "well, i'd like to hire you, can you start on monday?" needless to say, i was stoked. a job like that, paying $12/hr, that is THAT EASY to get? that's hard to come by. anyway, i hope the rest of you have had good luck in your employment search!
