I have a 2002 silverado 2500 HD with the 8.1 liter 502 in it and I am looking for MPG improvements that will not cost my first born or involve getting a new truck. I like my truck it is my buddy

I guess that depends on how much value you put on your first born....lol Intake ($200-300) exhaust ($200 and up) and nelson tune ($425) are the best bets for mpg increase.....good luck

I've been playing with this for three months now. The number one, unquestionabley gas saving feature is your right foot. Yup, I've even tested my "normal" driving against a more reasonable form and I can tell you that taking it easy can save as much as 3 1/2 mpg..hands down!!! That acn be as much as $10-$12 per tankful. Yopu can squeeze a little bit more out of all the other things, but for all my own efforts, EZ Duz It is #1.

I have to agree. I just moved from WA to NV and the town I now live in has an average speed limit of 25mph. I've noticed my mpg increase a little since I've been here because I'm not able to hot rod around like I used to. The cops here will not only pull you over but they will write you a ticket for as little as 5mph over the posted limit. How crappy is that? And there are far too many areas that have 15mph limits....my truck doesn't go that slow unless I ride the brake!!! :wtf:

And of course - take 9 pounds of a 10 pound foot off the accelerator
