Does anyone know if the new tornado system works? it is suppose to save fuel as well as increase horsepower, can anyone tell me if this actually works?

No.
:+1:

Most tests have shown it actually causes a decrease in HP.

Created vortex by the 'tornado' gets dampened and disrupted by butterfly in throttle body. It gets disrupted even more as it passes and separates in to each runner of the intake manifold.
I do agree that is decreases HP by causing drag i.e restriction air pass.

Even if it did increase horsepower, wouldn't that hurt the engine? An engine that is designed to use 200 hp, if increased, the engine would be doing more than it could handle I woud think. Anyone got any answers?

not necessarily, just because you increase the horsepower of an engine doesn't mean you increase the strain put on it. installing an aftermarket intake and exhaust will make your engine more efficient and give you more horsepower but won't increase strain. in fact it will decrease strain on the engine because it doesn't have to work as hard to get air in and exhaust out.

Does anyone use the 'search' function?
Somewhere on AF, it seems at least once a month someone asks if this thing works.

The answer is always the same. It does not work.
Furthermore, if you watch the advertisements for this, you will notice all the 'evidence' presented is 'anecdotal' that is its people personal opinion disgused as fact, so it is technically legal, but The ads are misleading as all hell.

Advertising makes people buy them and the company makes money. So yes, in that respect it works!

This works too.

Manufacturers go to great lengths to laminate airflow going into the engine. Many MAFs have screens of little airfoils, most TBs are dual butterflies to keep things on the straight and narrow. Many even put airfoils inline between the filter and TB to make sure air DOESN'T swirl. Laminar flow is good all the way past the valve. Once in the chamber, swirl is good, but the tornado wouldn't affect that.
