Any updates on the coupe? Have you decided what you are going to do about your motor? Hows the Green Trash project turning out or have you sold it already like you said at one time to fix the motor in your coupe?

Let's see where to start.........

"Green Trash" is now code named "Optimus Primer" or "Prima-saurus Rex". Bobby aka GTStang, come over about a month ago and we primed the car, well he showed me how to prime the car. It was kinda fun actually and I learned a lot. Since then I have not done too much to it, just waiting to paint it. I was going to do it myself, but I have not had the time or money to really spend on it. I think a quick Macco job is in order since all the prep work is done, then it hits the want ads. Every step taken on Green Trash can be seen here, http://www.dork.com/hiflow50/projectgreentrash.html

As for the Notch. I had plans of dropping a temp motor in there just for the remainder of the season. I was able to score a free non-HO 302 long block from a friend. Stock non roller block with a hefty cam, had 86 heads with 1.6 stud mount roller rockers. I assembled that motor with my Trick Flow intake and 70mm Tb, and dropped it in the car about 2 weeks ago. After a few minor problems I got it running, but it never seemed quite right. Come to find out that there is excesive bearing wear internally and after the motor warms up you can hear rod knocking. Really bad with 10W30 oil, less so with 20W50, but still enough for concern.

So plans for the Notch are to prep it for winter storage now, selling off all the parts that collected in the garage over the past couple years to make way for the new motor build. Currenlty my Edelbrock heads which we damaged, are in the machine shop being fixed like new. The new combo is pretty much still in the air. I'm leaning towards two options though, but over all I want to achieve low 12's/high 11's with either combo. Combo 1 is a 331 low compression with some type of power adder (Nitrous/turbo/supercharger, all depending on how the wallet looks in the spring), while still using all my other parts, heads, cam, intake and other bolt ons. Combo 2 is to run a 347 with 10.5 compression, AFR 185 heads, BBK SSI intake, custom cam and other minor bolt on's. Again, everything really depends on the money situation and what I was able to save and sell over winter.

Ok, well that's pretty much it from the guy who has been in the shadows for the past few months.

Well, I'm sure you know that upgrading your EFI stuff is gonna make it expensive to go N2O/turboblower, where I just have to change my jets ect if I add boost or bottle, just something to think about. But, if you go with the N2O then build it 10.5cr or higher. Bottles loves compression! I would suggest forced induction though. Who knows I may be selling my S-trim by next summer lol. If you go turbo you can save a load of cash going with a jy build or just buy the turbo and b/o valve and run the rest out of exhaust pipe. That is of course if you can weld or have access to a welder. I'll be going turbo hopefully by next year. Also just FYI, your build will go a little quicker if you get any machine work you need done during the winter. The machine shop I'm useing has had my block for about 4 months now atleast. He is a sponsoring race shop so he will get to me when the guys he builds motors for are done for the season. Also, what about your tranny? Are you still running a stock T5?

I have a block that will be going in for machine work once I get my heads back. I starting to really like the place that is doing my machine work, but am just waiting for the finished product to come back before sending out the block.

I'm leaving towards the 347 route right now and I'll be doing everything over, from induction to fuel. I'm playing on spending about 4-5k if I go that route.

I am running a WC T5 right now, and I might be building up the stock T5 that I have sitting around with heavy duty parts over winter, just something to tinker with since that can be done in my basement.
