throttle body

2002 Tahoe Lt , its running fine but when she comes down to idle I'm getting poor engine idle, but no bounce in the tac. I've been told that if you clean the throttle body it will fix it. Question, where is the TB? I believe its the unit off the air flow into the air manifold. Am I correct? Is there a bi-pass idle flow? If the TB is what I believe I'm looking at, how do you clean it? I sprayed TB cleaner into the manifold and around the air flow valve but I'm still getting the same results.
Your suggestions would be appreciated.

CORRECT. IT'S THE PART YOU WILL SEE AFTER TAKING OFF THE AIR CLEANER & BOX. THROTTLE BODY CLEANER IS COOL, BUT SEA FOAM DEEP CREEP IS BETTER. JUST WITH THE ENGINE OFF OPEN UP THE BUTTERFLY VALVE SPRAY IT DOWN THERE. AND WITH A TOOTHBRUSH
CLEAN IT OUT.

I have a 2002 Tahoe myself , actually my wife does, but she had the same problem at idle and over time it began dieing at slow speeds. I removed the throttle body and cleaned it with carb clearner and put it back to together and the problem was solved. Any shade tree mechanic should be able to remove the throttle body and clean it. It only took approx 1hr and cost nothing. The back side of the butterfly in the throttle body will be covered in carbon build up and the area of the throat of the throttle body around the edges of the butterfly will also be gummed up. It does not appear that this would cause much trouble but it will!! You can not feel the sticky throttle at the pedal because it is drive by wire and the throttle body is controlled by an electric motor. Good luck!!!

thanks guys, I did the tb cleaner and I could feel a much better reponse. But I'm still getting a ever slight stumble at idle 550rpms. I replaced the plugs and gapped to spec. but I didn't replace the wires. What do ya'll think...replace the wire set? My mechanic ran a diag. and no code showed up. He said his Escalade does the same,...but mine didn't do this ever until I had an AC compressor premature lock up a few times along with a few belts were replaced.
