In Progress: Red Bull Ford Focus WRC

Been awhile since I posted any new projects so here we go...
Red Bull Ford Focus from the 2001 Deutschland Rally built with Reji transkit and Tamiya's 2001 Monte Carlo kit. Right from the start, I was somewhat disappointed with Reji's product. The resin front bumper and rear spoiler looked pretty rough for a resin newb like me. Since I wanted to focus on a clean basic build (Ha! get it? focus  ), I opted to keep the Tamiya body in tact. My apologies to the rally experts out there for the inaccuracy.
Body primered and shot with a TS-30 base coat.

Chassis shot: I experimented a bit with the chassis/interior and tried TS-15 for a duller, more weathered shade of blue. I'm sure it backfired, but hey, you learn from your mistakes right?

The decals were another issue with the Reji transkit. Quite a few already showed signs of cracking while still on the sheet! I should have splurged for the Studio27 version. :cwm27:

More progress coming soon. As always, Comments/suggestions/criticisms are more than welcome!

Nice start, but you choose worng firm for transkit. Reji is known for bad decals and molds.
I think that Renaisance still have made conversion too.

Hi,
looks good so far, however, the chassis was white and not blue on the 1:1 car.

Unfortunately sportracer is right about the underbody, but since you've used licence and not used the resin parts, it can be whatever you like :)

aw crap. :(
thanks for the info. My rally models never seem to be 100% accurate anyway, so I guess I can't be too bummed out. :) After witnessing a few more decals self destruct before my eyes, I placed an order for Studio27's offering. Granted it's for the 2000 Semperit Rally, but I'm mainly in need of the smaller sponsor decals so it should work out ok.
Thanks for the comments!
