Bad fuel pressure test.

Well I finally got my hands on a fuel pressure tester and ran the test.
When it was idling it only got up to 40 psi. When I gave it a shot of gas it would drop to around 30 psi. I took it for a drive with the gauge still connected to check it under load. When it starting losing power or when I gave it gas the gauge would drop bad. When I held the gas to the floor the gauge went to 11 psi everytime, the harder I would press the gas the further the pressure dropped. The lowest it would go was 11 psi, the highest it would get back up to (Usually coasting ) was 38 to 40. Now let me know what you guys think who actually know how to read and interpret these gauges. Is it the fuel pump giving up on me or maybe the fuel regulator? Please let me know before I go and tear the pump out AGAIN. :banghead:

There are three possibilities. The fuel pump the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel filter is blocked. If the fuel filter is old then change it first and try again, if that doesn't change it then change the FPR. The fpr is much cheaper than a fuel pump to change so you may want to try that first. If nothing changes then the fuel pump is the only other possibility. You have to drop the fuel tank to change it and you will need a fuel line tool to remove the fuel lines. Changing fuel pumps is always a PITA.

Nope, Ive dropped this tank more times then my pants, about 4 times in the last week. Thanks anywho though :)
