Key pad and some electrical issues

Well this forum has been great. I am getting the ol' Fan clutch issue also. I am out of warranty now :mad: I also heard that "airplane" noise but never knew what it was.

anyway,

here is my question: both key pad (fob) whatever you want to call them have stopped working (replaced both batteries) still no go. AI have also noticed that the radio won't stay on after the car is tuned off before the door is opened. it use to stay on. Also the dome light won't activate with opening the rear hatch. it use to keep the light on. Anyone had these problems. Tell me there is a fuse somwhere blown for the reciver or something. I looked at all the fuses.

oh, and the #5 speed on the fan won't work. 1-4 are good though. It goes in for repair on these items in a month but the key pad thing is really a bummer carrying a baby and haveing to go to the driver door an open with a key to unlock all the other doors.

without the kee pad it seems we can't lock the hatch either.

My number five on the fan control does not work either although the other four are just fine... Please let me know what you find out regarding this issue. Thanks, -Don

Just wondering if you tried to reprogram the remotes.. I have the directions if you need them..

all i was told to do was push both the lock and unlock at the same time to re-program them. it didn't work.

the odd thing i just noticed the licencepl ate lights were out and the white houseing for each bulb is browned like it was heated up. i may have some sort of short in sone of the cars systems.

it goes in for repair in a week or so. i will report the answers to all of these when i get it back.

The blower does not work on the #5 setting because a fuse is blown. Check the fuses in the engine compartment it is in there. I think it was titleed blower but I am not sure. I had that problem and that was t he problem. Good luck

That is PART of the procedure. It is NOT the whole procedure. You need to reprogram your remotes. Use method 1 below:

I have an 2002 trail blazer and am having some strange electrical problems. Keyless entry no longer works. I have tried to reprogram them with option #1 from other post and had not luck at all. My dome lights will not fade off like they used to. In fact the only way I can get the dome lights off is to push the button in near the headlight switch. My licsense plate lights do not work. My rear wiper does not work. My rear hatch does not lock. And when the rear hatch is open and vehicle not running there is a clicking sound coming from the BCM in the hatch.
Any ideas please help

Got all of my electrical issues fixed. On mine I had 5 broken wires in the rubber boot to the rear hatch. This messed up the licence plate light, radio function and alarm key pads. The way it was explained to me was - there are modules (lot of them) there is one in each door and one in the hatch (there are more) and when the car is started and they are all comunicating, the rear hatch not being in the loop/found , they all freaked out and i lost some functions.

I was also about 2 updates behind on the computer and that should fix my ticking also.

I haven't got to the fix on the #5 fan speed being dead they ran out of time.
