Occasionally, my engine will not turn over at all. No clicking or anything. I have lights and gauges, but nothing from the ignition. I have corrected the problem by wiggling the positive post of the battery. This problem happens from time to time and will do it about once a month on average. The mechanics can't figure out what it is if I bring the car in running. Any ideas?

Check/clean up the battery terminals first of all, both positive and ground. Clean up til you get good, shiny contacts.
Do you get a Security light when it won't turn over? If so you might have a key resistor problem..also, a good idea would be to test the starter relay. Won't hurt.

Mine did that a few weeks ago. I tapped the starter solenoid, and it started right up. Figuring I'd need a new one soon.
It did it once more a week later, this time I tightened the wiring at the starter, and sprayed the solenoid with WD-40. It's been fine since.
But check the battery connections first like cad says, and check the connection at the jump start lug under the red cap, it might have a loose connection there also.

Could be electric part of ignition switch. Mine did the same. I changed it recently.

IF wiggling the battery cable fixes it, I would bet you have a bad connection or a loose terminal in the battery. GM's side post batteries are famous for the terminals pulling out, especially if a ham-fisted mechanic CRANKS the bolt down tight.
