I have a problem with my low fuel indicator light/bell. It goes on intermittently whether tank has been just filled, at the halfway point or at any other point. I brought it back to the used car dealership where I bought it and was told this was common, yet I cannot find anything regarding this anywhere.

Fairly common
There are a few threads about this. I purchased a 93 Caravan in 1999 and still today, the fuel gauge and low fuel light never worked properly. Shows full when I fill up, then empty about an hour later.
Something with sludge on the transmitter. I think that the only fix is to remove the tank. I got used to it. Too bad you can't add a chemical to the gas tank to fix it.

One other thing I picked from reading this forum is not to add fuel while the vehicle is running. I don't know if you are doing this but it has been said this messes the gauge up for a while.
