I've noticed recently that new folks are treated pretty nastily. Now I'll be the first to agree that a lot of them seem to be idiots and might deserve some harsh treatment. But on the other hand, who among us has never said anything stupid?

I'd think it would be better to encourage new members, rather than discourage them.

We know how to treat n00bs...and we know when people are just being stupid and get 1000 posts in a few days. We joke, if they can take it, w00t.

Our mods do their jobs and we all know we joke. If they don't they'll learn. It's like an initiation. :D
