just a quick question about the 2200 engine, i know the horsepower rating is 115, and i know it redlines at 6000, however i cant for the life of me remember if the horsepower peaks at 5000 rpms or 5200?? anyone have an idea??

I saw a 870 HPTop FuelCavalier at the track a few months ago. Rear wheel drive with a 464 in it :)

so would an automatic at full throttle shift at 5200 or 6000?? also, with a 5 speed, would you do the 1/4 mile faster shifting at 5200, or 6000? im guessing 5200, but i'd feel alot better if someone could back that up....

I WILL.....Shift at 5000, the tourque curve starts to cut off at about 5000-5200. i would shift there. at 6000 the torque is not there. Thats what i think.

finally someone with an answer, yeah thats what i thought, you can actually feel when it starts "losing torque" (or however you'd say it), right around 3000 it starts to throw you back in your seat a little bit, and right around 5200 it loses that "throwbackness"

still the part i wanna know the most, does an automatic at full throttle shift at 5200 or 6000?

I beleve about 6000. well a little before hand. 5800-5900. right about there. give or take. I hope this helps a little.
