idle problem

hey its me again. i also am having issues with my idle. sometimes when i start my car (95 gst) it is fine the next time i will start it it idles at 2000 rpm. it is differant ever time i start the car. thanks for any help.

I had a similar problem on my 95 Tsi Talon, I changed the Throttle possision sensor, that wasn't it.Then the Manifold differential pressure sensor, also wasn't the problem. I took out the throttle body and it had carbon residue making the valve stick. So I used a tooth brush and a little bit of fuel injector cleaner to scrub the inside clean. When I had reassembled everything it was much better but would still start to raise it's idle when the engine got hot. I finally realized the obvious. After all that work all it took was a $1.50 spring from Canadian tire on the exterior of the throttle body, to assist closing the valve. This makes the gas pedal ultra touchy but I love it this way, as I find that it drops the RPM much quicker when shifting and makes the stock BOV a little louder. After three years of driving the car like this I haven't had a single problem. You should experiment with different spring tentions to find just the right one. Good luck.
