4 wheel troubles

I have a 1992 GMC sierra,recently tried my 4 wheel drive and it will not engage in 4 hi, it will how ever work in 4 low.the indicator light beside my shifter will not work any longer either, in hi or low.any ideas would be welcomed.not really sure what to check or just take to shop.Thank you
