Keyless Entry???????

I have keyless entry on my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and when i lock and unlock there is no honk of the horn. Is there supposed to be a honk or is that only on newer models??????

98 should be able to honk the horn when alarm is engaged or disengaged... My car did it when i bought it used...i was able to stop it from using the horn..In the owners manual there should be instructions on how to do this...

Regalfriend is correct. There are different programming modes that allow different functions. You can set it up so that all doors un-lock with only one push of the button (default is 1 push unlocks drivers door, 2 pushes unlocks all doors). Default on the security system is when you lock the doors with the transmitter, the security arms, if you hit the button a second time, the horn should honk as a confirmation. Your owners manual should show you how to program the different modes.
