Hey everyone! I noticed my RS oil light keeps flickering on and off when im at a dead stop. I changed my oil today and it still does the same thing so does anyone know what is causing my car to do that? When then car is moving the oil light shuts off but when i come back to a dead stop thats when it wants to come on. So anyone knows?

My Oldsmobile does the same. Bad sensor. Get it replaced. It only flickered when stopped. Replaced and worked fine

Replace you oil pressure sending unit (one for the idiot light).
Mine started doing this about 2 weeks ago....oil level is fine and my stock gauge reads exactly the same as it did 4 years ago when I got the car. The senders are know to go bad.
I don't know about the RS, but mine was $21 from Satan.
If you don't have a gauge on the dash, you might want to be careful seeing as how you can't verify if your oil pump is dying.

I had the same problem on my RS and it just fixed itself. I never touched the car and the oil light would turn on when I have stopped or when making a sharp turn. I know its a sensor that has gone bad but there were so many so i never fixed it and it went away by itself. however I was thinking that if its a sensor wouldnt the check engine light turn on ? Hey hella fresh are you getting a GSX or decided to keep your RS ?

No, not with the idiot lights on the dash. Now if your MAS died or an O2 died, then you would get a CEL.

Mine did the same thing and then once it just died and i smelled a little plastic burning,so i pop the hood and notice that stupid me did not pull my intake pipe up high enough off all the wires that run under it,and some were melted and it shorted them out.So i got them fixed and the dude said he move it for me,then yesterday at least a week after he fixed it it started doing it again so i poped the hood again and it was still close and those wires were hot again so i lifted the intake up a little higher and puff no more light flickerin,so maybe it something easy like that so take a look it cant kill ya hope it helps

a car can't fix its self, it doesn't have a brain to tell what to fix when something goes wrong. Maybe the light burnt out eventually??? just my 2 cents

I had that prolem on my 91 eclipse a couple of months ago. Find the oil pressure sending unit and check if the cable are not touching. That was my problem bacuse it was creating a short. If not get yourself a manual like at auto zone for your car it explains it more there.
